The Strong arm: OF Carlos Gonzalez

No matter which outfield position he plays, Carlos Gonzalez finds a way to impact the game on defense. With his outfield assist gunning down Travis Haffner at 3rd base against the Indians on Wednesday, he now has 7 on the season. The opposing teams must not pay much attention to the scouting report with regards to Cargo. The 7
outfield assists are good for 2nd in the National League with Ryan Ludwick of the Padres leading at 8. While much attention is paid to the Silver Slugger's bat, his glove is proving to be a valuable asset to a team that prides themselves on defense.

With Dexter Fowler working things out in Colorado Springs, Carlos Gonzalez has moved to center field and has not missed a beat. The move has helped the Rockies weather the early struggles but we can and should expect Carlos to move back to left field at some point this season. Although he can play all three outfield positions, it would be wise to take it easy with Cargo and slip him back into left field where he will continue to gun down opposing baserunners. It's hard to argue with the production he has put up in center, but a player of his caliber should be preserved in left field. Injuries can and will happen no matter which position a player plays, but center field is more demanding of an athlete than left field.

Should Charlie Blackmon be considered for CF or should Cargo stay put?
