On the Defense : Stand pat or make a move?

The bats of the Rockies are starting to heat up. Meanwhile, the gloves are full of holes and in need of repair. What should the Rockies do about the instability of third and second base without compromising the offensive capabilities of the team? Some have called for the glove of Ian Stewart but I think he should stay in the Springs until after the All-Star break. If he's not figured it out by the trade deadline there's really nothing the Rox can do to help anymore. A major upgrade may not be available until the trade deadline but one name to remember is 3B Josh Fields. Currently in AAA CS, Fields is hitting .365 with 32 extra base hits, an OBP of .429 to go along with an OPS of 1.103. A major upside with Fields is definitely the bat but the drawback is the liability in the field (6 errors in 50 games).

Second base could be the easier fix by moving either Chris Nelson or Ty Wiggington there. Both players have shown in limited play this year, their ability to spark an offensively challenged team but their gloves still need improvement. Fan favorite Jonathan Herrera has played 2B remarkably well to this point but his bat has cooled down considerably since his move to the utility role. This leaves Dan O'Dowd with many options to fix the team but any decision is either going to effect the offense or defense. While its not an envious position to be in something has to be done. Should the Rockies consider Josh Fields or another player within the organization, or should they look for a trade?
